The winery's name comes from owner, Jayson Woodbridge's grandfather, who described the soil in which grape vines grow best as a 'layer cake.' The soil strata give the wine different elements. This wine itself features its own layer cake of aromas and flavours: raspberry, strawberry, mocha, chocolate and a hint of spice. This dry, fruity and rich wine offers good textures on the palate. Try it with back ribs with a rich sauce.

Tasting Notes
'Layer Cake' refers to the influence that the layers of soil in the vineyard have on a wine's profile, but for our purposes, it can be applied to layers of flavour. This is a wine crafted to please a very wide audience, offering abundant, juicy black fruit notes in a crisp, ripe style. The fruit takes the cake here, so to speak, and leads the way.
