TASTING NOTE : This has been the second label since 1967 . It has seen 15 % new oak , for the same length of time as the grand vin . Nice gravelly fruit on nose . The assemblage is 50 % Cabernet Sauvignon , 42 % Merlot , 8 % Petit Verdot . Appealing substance . Fresh and quite classic , elegant , a well - honed style . Good tannins , soft and appropriate .
