In his Wine Lover ' s Diary for February 9 , 2011 , Tony Aspler scored this wine 92 , but did not provide a written note . ( tonyaspler . com ) TASTING NOTE : Strawberry juice red with wonderful aromas of Christmas cake , woodsmoke , blood orange marmalade and strawberry - rhubarb pie . Sweet with very impressive balance , and not just from the fine acidity . Staff has kept her residual sugar in line resulting in a sweet , delicious , divinely structured wine . Enjoy now with strawberry shortcake or , not surprisingly , with strawberry - rhubarb pie . You could also dribble a little over and with crêpes with berries . ( Vintages panel , June 2011 )
