Vino Nobile , like the wines of its neighbour Chianti , is made with the Sangiovese grape ( locally called Prugnolo Gentile ). The climate of Vino Nobile is a touch warmer , with heavier soils , which comes across in the slightly fuller , softer fruit and mouthfeel . This wine spent two years in oak , adding smoky notes to the cherry and plum aromas and flavours .
