Viña Cobos began in 1999 , and is the Argentine project of noted American winemaker and consultant , Paul Hobbs . Renowned for his ability to identify exceptional vineyard sites , Hobbs was drawn to Argentina by the great potential he saw in the soil , so it is no surprise that the Felino Merlot should be such a deeply expressive wine . It sports layered aromas and flavours of black fruit , herbs , and violets , with silky tannins . Enjoy alongside a grilled steak with mushrooms and wild rice .
