Crafted by winemaker Gordon Robert, the Excellence line from Stoney Ridge is made only from the best of the best grapes, and only in years that warrant the treatment. This Pinot, from a very strong vintage for the variety in Niagara, took home a Silver Medal at the 2011 Ontario Wine Awards. It features aromas of raspberry, cherry, pumpkin spice, earth, and mellow oak, and will make a splendid partner for a roast beef dinner. Cellar it 2-4 years, or enjoy it tonight, decanted.
