TASTING NOTE : The 2007 Felix Blend is composed of 80 % Malbec and 20 % Tannat , a grape which thrives in Cafayate . The Malbec was sourced from 50 - year - old vines and the Tannat from 100 - year - old vines with tiny yields of 3 tons per hectare . It spent 24 months in barrel and 24 months in bottle prior to release . A glass - coating purple / black color , it offers up a bouquet reminiscent of Barolo road tar along with elements of rose petal , exotic spices , licorice , truffle , and black cherry . Dense , concentrated , and incipiently complex , it will reward another 3 - 4 years of cellaring and will be at its best from 2015 to 2027 .
