This property was home to a monastery from the 18th century until the family of the current owner ( the regal Baronne de Montremy ) acquired it in 1942 . This wine ' s name , Ermite du Maunier , is a tribute to it ' s former life as a monastery ( Maunier is a contraction of the latin Monasterium ). This Syrah / Grenach blend is filled with blackberry , underbrush and pepper aromas and flavours . Match it to lamb sausages provençal - style , with fennel , onion and tomato sauce .
