Tasting Notes
Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2009 The Gimblett (a Bordeaux blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec) has youthfully mute aromas of warm cassis, cloves, cedar, yeast extract and a whiff of hung meat. Medium-full bodied, it has a good backbone of crisp acid, firm tannins and a long finish. Still very young and tight, give it 18-24 months more in bottle and drink it 2013 - 2022+. Score - 94.
