About this product

TASTING NOTE: As the name suggests, the 2009 Wild Sauvignon was naturally fermented in French oak barriques, 10% new, and aged for 12 months with occasional lees stirring. About 2/3 of the barrels underwent malo-lactic. It displays yeasty / toasty notes of freshly baked bread and toasted almonds over fresh grapefruit juice, kumquats, passion fruit and mandarin peel plus hints of cedar, coriander seed and dill. Medium bodied and wonderfully concentrated, it has a beautiful satiny texture, invigorating acidity and a very long, layered finish. Kevin Judd takes Marlborough Sauvignon to new heights with this one! Drinking very nicely now, it's of that style that could age very well and I'd recommend putting a few bottles away in the cellar for 5 years or so and enjoying it to 2016+. Score: 93+ (Lisa Perrotti-Brown, erobertparker.com, Oct. 2011)
