TASTING NOTE: The 2007 Montefalco Sagrantino Colle Grimaldesco is an immensely appealing wine that captures plenty of varietal character yet also manages to be open and radiant. Firm yet beautifully balanced tannins frame the dark fruit. Hints of licorice, tar and medicinal herbs develop in the glass, adding further complexity. Tasting Notes
A rich red, with real muscle from the burly tannins, featuring a core of iron-tinged minerality and flavors of fig cake, raspberry ganache, wild herb, olive and ground peppercorn that should become more expressive with time in the cellar.
