This is the top gun chardonnay from Le Clos Jordanne, but rather than having more firepower, it is actually the most calm, deep and even of the very good 2009 chardonnays. The nose is soft, subtle and complex with doughy, ripe custard and doughy notes, honeyed fruit, gentle pepper and herbs around the pear and citrus fruit. It is very elegant, less lean and tart than its portfolio mates from this rather terse vintage. More forgiving and very fine, yet still Intense with excellent to outstanding length. Great minerality on the finish. Age it a couple of years and drink through most of this decade. Score - 93. (David Lawrason, winealign.com, Nov. 2011)
