Tasting Notes
The 'regular' pinot noir sees 30 per cent whole cluster (as opposed to 100 in the Reserve) and wild ferment, followed by [10] months in barrel, then two years of bottle age. Just a pinch of residual sugar and well delineated acidity works in tandem with the markedly Bourguignons effect for a dreamy Westcott '18 that recites an elegant vintage tale. The aromatics mimic the Reserve, tar and roses, teas and forest scents. Terrific equanimity between all parts, so well served, enticing and gregarious. More openness here and the invitation will stay that way for a few years, at the very least. Drink 2021-2025. Tasted October 2021 and April 2022. Score - 91. (Michael Godel, winealign.com)
