In 1987 , Paul Dolan sampled Sauvingon Blanc grapes that came from two blocks of the same vineyard . One had been treated with conventional pesticides while the other had been grown organically . Already sensitive to the consequences of pesticides on the environment , Dolan was shocked to taste the impact of the pesticides on the flavours of grapes . This experience forever changed his thinking about grape growing . Our Quality Assurance laboratory has determined that this wine contains 10 mg / L of free sulphur .
