Sonoma has more soil types than all of France, and the complicated patchwork of mesoclimates and topography allows it to be equally adept at producing cool-climate Pinot Noir from one site and rich, full, ripe Merlot from another. If you haven't tried this customer favourite, you should. There's always a touch of the decadent about it, with plush black fruit, lifted red cherry, coffee and chocolate. It'll be big, flavourful and supple, and will be equally delicious with burgers or quesadillas.

Tasting Notes
A perennial favourite. The 2016 version offers up a floral nose with ripe blueberry, plum, currants, smoked meat, vanilla, and a coffee-like note emerging on the close. Savoury herbs round out the flavours nicely. Pair with a charcuterie board or grilled lamb kebabs. (Vintages panel, July 2019)
