Tasting Notes
The 2017 Savigny-l�s-Beaune Les Lavi�res 1er Cru, already in bottle, has a vibrant, spicy, rose petal and violet bouquet that is even more intense than the Aux Fournaux. The chalk/limestone terroir really shows through here. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin. It does not quite have the charm and crystalline quality of the Aux Fournaux, but is more masculine and structured, with a lovely marine element tincturing the dark berry fruit toward the chalky finish. Excellent. Drink 2021 to 2038. Score - 92. (Neal Martin, vinous.com, Jan. 2019)
