TASTING NOTE : A fantastic 2010 and up there with the brilliant ' 03 and ' 09 , the 2010 Château Fortia Châteauneuf - du - Pape Cuvée du Baron is dense , meaty , and shows fantastic southern Rhône character . Possessing copious black cherry and currant styled fruit , saddle leather , licorice , garrigue , and pepper on the nose , this medium to full - bodied red is very traditional and focused on the palate , with a pure , balanced feel , building richness , and a chewy , structured finish .
