TASTING NOTE : Nose : As is often the case , the rum has hardened the aroma ; Taste : beautifully crisp with fragile malts clashing with equally crisp barley ; the touch of golden syrup works wonders ; Finish : Serious depth to the malt ; the grains soften out with vanilla ; Balance : this is high quality blending , and the usage of the rum appears to have retained the old Mac Na Mara style .
