TASTING NOTE : The very first thing that strikes you is the viscous amber - coloured liquid that pours from the bottle . The aromas are redolent of almonds , raisins and dates and the flavours are a dazzling array of orange rind , nuttiness and bone dry zest . The grape , Sercial , and in this instance a style of Madeira ( dry ) is known as Esgana Cão ( dog strangler ) in Portugal due to its racy acidity .
