Internationally acclaimed Gaja acquired the Gromis vineyard, in the La Morra area, in 1995 and named it for the family that owned it throughout the 19th century. This dynamic Barolo, which combines fruit from the Gromis vineyard and another Gaja property in the nearby Serranlunga, will reward substantial cellar time (3-5+ years), but with its lovely rose petal, dried herbs, spice and licorice aromas and flavours, it can be enjoyed tonight, decanted, with a prime rib or rack of lamb.
