TASTING NOTE : A beautiful wine that should drink superbly for 15 years , this sensational 2007 was made from a tiny 26 hectoliters per hectare , and is a blend of 78 % Merlot and 22 % Cabernet Franc that achieved nearly 13 . 8 % natural alcohol . The wonder duo of Nicolas Thienpont and Stephane Derenoncourt hit paydirt with this beauty , which may turn out to be a better balanced wine than their 2009 . This opulent , sexy wine exhibits a dense ruby / plum / purple color , a full - bodied mouthfeel , sweet tannins , and lots of forest floor , black currant , ripe cherry , and mountain flora characteristics .
