Tasting Notes
From partly 50+-year-old vines in several terroirs of the Goldgrube, fermented on the lees for 18 months and finished with 15 grams of residual sugar, the 2018 Wolfer Riesling is precise, coolish and flinty on the stony yet beautifully intense nose. Juicy, round and refined on the palate, this is a medium-bodied yet intense, lush and silky-textured Riesling with fascinating lingering salinity and delicate slate astringency. This is beautifully balanced and shows terrific today, just a month after the bottling. Drink date: 2020-2040. Score - 93. (Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com, Oct. 30, 2020)
