Tasting Notes
This is a big, brazen Chardonnay that (somewhat counter-intuitively) offers crisp fruit character. A medium lemon-straw colour in the glass, it opens with a very nice nose of white peach, pear, melon, buttered toast and mineral. Dry, full bodied with a humongous mouthfeel, yet surprisingly mouth-watering acidity and fruit freshness. Long, layered finish. Not a shy wine by any stretch. Enjoy it tonight with blackened chicken breast. (VINTAGES panel, June 2011)
