Tasting Notes
Scribe Winery in Sonoma, California produces vibrant, terroir-driven wines. The winery--founded in 2007 on a property that pioneered pre-prohibition Sonoma Valley winemaking--is managed by fourth-generation California farmers and brothers, Andrew and Adam Mariani. The intense nose provides notes of bergamot and green papaya. Fermented on skins for 3 months in concrete eggs, this a-typical winemaking process adds the necessary texture and structure to balance this particular Chardonnay clone's pronounced notes. The wine was aged for an additional 3 months in concrete egg off the skins before bottling.
